Walk through Vieux Oppede

We had our first Irish guests of the summer come stay and thankfully the heavy thunderstorms blew over and the sun came out to play. On their second day, we woke up early and headed off to Coustellet market to pick up some luscious local cheese and still-warm, freshly baked artisan bread for our lunch picnic, planned for under the watchful gaze of Oppede-le-Vieux. If you want a lazy afternoon in Provence to just soak up beautiful architecture, winding cobbled streets and breathtaking views then you can't go wrong by paying this village a visit.

Bienvenue...come take a walk and stay a while

Ancient murals adorn a wall, a debauched looking cherub and an antique chandelier winks in the sunlight

Incredible doors - I've come to expect nothing less living in the Luberon

Peeking inside their beautiful chapel is very much worth the climb

All that walking can take it out of little ones....Louis chooses to try snoozing on some ancient rocks!
